My problem with this book is that it lacked in depth, unlike her other novel ‘Second Summer Chance’.   The first hundred pages was a drag and I had a difficult time getting into the story. Also the main protagonist, Andie, lack dimensions and it did not feel a connection with her. She was very reserve and had little character growth. With that Clark, in my opinion, out shined her to the point that I’d rather have Clark narrate the story and I was looking forwards to his scenes more.             Furthermore, the relationships presented in this book were great. I think it is a book wherein we can put into context International Relations Theories. We see how people can get greedy with power as seen in the government in grey London.   Power-relations are a big

The year he became friends with the devil.                    Sal seems to appear out of nowhere - a bruised and tattered thirteen-year-old boy claiming to be the devil himself answering an invitation. Fielding Bliss, the son of a local prosecutor, brings him home where he's welcomed into the Bliss family, assuming he's a runaway from a nearby farm town.   When word spreads that the devil has come to Breathed, not everyone is happy to welcome this self-proclaimed fallen angel. Murmurs follow him and tensions rise, along with the temperature as an unbearable heat wave rolls into town right along with him.
