Book #4 The Bradens of Peaceful Harbor

Steve Johnson is living his life’s passion watching over the Colorado Mountains as a ranger and wildlife consultant. But his peaceful life is upended when overzealous and insanely beautiful Shannon Braden flits back into his life after returning from a brief trip home to Maryland. He thought his attraction to her was under control—after all, she’s only in Colorado temporarily, and he doesn’t do casual affairs.

Shannon’s return to Colorado has as much to do with the game of cat and mouse she and Steve have been playing as it does the data she’s been hired to collect. But despite her efforts to explore the undeniable heat simmering between them, Steve’s intent on keeping his distance.

When a ranch abutting the national park goes up for sale, Steve will do whatever it takes to keep it from falling into the wrong hands. And when all his attempts fail, he’s left with no alternative but to follow Shannon’s guidance into the online world he abhors in order to raise the funds. The more time they spend together, the deeper their attraction becomes, and a game of cat and mouse turns into an unstoppable connection. But when Shannon’s assignment comes to an end, will it mean an end to them, too?

Review:
Disclaimer: I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

Melissa Foster did it again! She made me smile, laugh, cry, and fall in love again. Crushing on Love is such a sweet book. It is one of those book that is very light and easy to read. Melissa is truly talented in creating a set of diverse characters, which complements one another. In this novel, we have Shannon who is a people person, likes to socialize with others. Generally, an extrovert. While Steve is an introvert. He is very reserve and loves living alone away from other people. And I love how despite their difference Melissa made them work in the end. This book shows us how loving a person can change who we are.
In addition, I enjoyed every character and their dynamics with one another. A particular scene which showcase this is when Steve was learning to dance for Shannon. It was so funny and I love how they banter and yet care for one another. With that I also love how the author showcased the importance of family in this book, since it is the primary vital cell of society. Furthermore, though the plot is predictable, the story itself does not seem far fetched. I know some couples also deals with the problem Shannon and Steve has. Long distance relationships do happen and it can make or break a relationship.

"Love is about discovering underlying truths. It is about caring enough to put yourself last and wanting to be with them at their ugliest times as well as their most beautiful."

To end, can I just blabber on how amazing Steve or Grizz is? Thank you Melissa for creating another book boyfriend! He is just thoughtful, sexy, and kind. I love how he is willing to change his life drastically for Shannon. I like how he was so concerned about Shannon safety that he put glass jars with fireflies to light up the the path to her driveway so that she will get home safely. I also would like to commend the author for highlighting a very important issue, which is taking care of our environment. Nowadays, forest are getting balder due to the greediness of people and we have to be aware of this news and take some actions.
