The book starts with psychologist Faith Finley getting into a car accident and waking up to find his husband missing. After months of investigation, the police ruled out that he might have flee on his own accord because he withdrew a large sum of money shortly before the accident and his passport was missing. The story switches between the past and the present, which I like in mystery/thriller books because the clues about the mystery are scattered throughout the book and it helps to get the reader's mind to continuously think each time there is a flashback scene.
