Book Signing: Lauren Kate

Lauren Kate is an internationally bestselling author of young adult fiction. Her books have been translated into over thirty languages and include The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove and Fallen, which reached number 3 on the New York Times Best Seller List for children's chapter books on January 8, 2010, remaining there throughout April 2011.

Harrison Gilbertson  is an Australian actor. he appeared in Need for Speed, with Aaron Paul, and the thriller ghost feature, Haunt, with Liana Liberato and Jackie Weaver.
I was fortunate enough to go to Lauren Kate's 3rd book signing here in the Philippines. I was not able to go to her first two book signings so I am finally happy to finally attend her third one. I arrive in Greenbelt 5 quarter to 7pm and I got lost. I did not know where the line was and when I found the line I'm glad that it was still short and I got the number 38 signing pass. Moving on, the Fallen series has a huge impact on my life. It was one of my favorite series when I was in high school. I remember one of my teacher scolding me for reading Torment, which the second book of the series, during her lecture. And due to my addiction towards the series, my books are so battered due to re-reading it so much that I was so shy to show them to the Lauren.

During the interview portion, Lauren Kate and Harrison Gilbertson talked about the movie. The casting and filming process in particular. and hearing them talk about the movie made me so excited. The whole event gave me deja vu. It brought me memories of me reading and loving the series. Which brings me to what I love about the series that is the unexpected twists. They really caught me off guard especially in the first and last books, which was pretty unusual for me because I usually know what is going to happen in books next unlike in this series. Also, the love story between Luce and Daniel is so unique and heartfelt. Moreover, I cannot wait to see the movie on November 10!
With Harrison Gilbertson, who plays Cam in the movie.

Me with the author Lauren Kate.

My signed books to add to my collection.
I bought unforgiven, which is Cam's story, during the event that is why it looks brand new compared to my three books. Also, you were only allowed to have three books signed and thankfully a sweet girl got my book signed since she only has two books. So thank you again to that lovely girl.
I also met some of my old friends, who I met in other book signing events and new ones.

Thank you so much National Bookstore and Penguin Random House for this event.

xoxo,
Isabel
