Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an HONEST review.

Release Date: March 14, 2017

Synopsis:

One drunken kiss ignites an inferno of burning desire. Sworn enemies, Lucky Winters and Seven Douglass struggle to forget the kiss that shouldn't have happened. Then Lucky’s past comes back to bite him and he suddenly disappears for months, leaving Seven wondering where they both stand.

When Lucky returns, he is a changed man and his prolonged absence means he must once again prove himself to the club he's sworn his life to. Except Lucky can’t seem to shake off the recent events as much as he wants to.

Seven is no stranger to this feeling. Her own mysterious past threatens to disrupt her future and when neither of them are able to stop the ghosts of their pasts from resurfacing, the only person they can turn to is each other. Suddenly, hatred morphs into love. And where there is fire and ice, there’s bound to be some steam . . .

Review:

I went on reading this book without reading the first one and boy was I surprise by it. I expected to be a cheesy hot romance with a dangerous guy and a helpless girl but I was so wrong because it is so much more.

First of all this world is set in an apocalyptic or post apocalyptic time wherein the world is plague by solar flares, which changed how the people are living and how the society runs. The world is now divided by wards. The MC club Glory governs Ward 4. We are then introduced to these two main character, Lucky and Seven. They both had a though childhood. Lucky had a troubled past with her mother being a drug addict and now her sister is suffering the same faith. While Seven and her little sister was abandoned in a grocery store. They were then taken up by a couple who raised them, took them to school, and fed them. But since money was a problem, they expected Seven to help out and when she couldn't find a job, they made her a prostitute when she became of age. The same thing to her sister. But because her sister couldn't cope up with it she committed suicide. I like how despite the terrible things that had happened to them, they are still strong and fighting for their lives. I am very glad they got to have their happy ending with each other.

Furthermore, I love the enemies to lovers trope. The sexual tension is very evident but they initially did not want to act out their attraction for each other. I also like that there is a sense of realism in this story because Lucky and Seven's background story is happening around us. There are children with parents who are using drugs, and there are girls who are being directly or indirectly forced into prostitution. Also, the notion of the apocalypse is also a reality.

Lastly, the thing with Trey is very predictable but I had some doubts about my assumptions in some scenes. Also, for me the author did not delve into Lucky's background story that much. I have some much questions about him like how did he and her sister survive growing up with a drug addict for a mother and how did he become a member of Glory club. To assert, I really like this book. The ending really shocked me and I can't wait to read it. I also just read the synopsis of the first book of this series and I will be also reading it too because I would like to see how the author tackle Bipolar  II disorder in her book.
