Mamma Mia: The Musical

It's been 10 days since I've watched Mamma Mia: The Musical and I am still hungover about the whole productions. I have always loved musicals even as a kid. I even joined theatre club in grade school but sadly that dream ended for me when I realized I cannot sing to save my life.

Mamma Mia! by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus is the smash hit broadway and west end musical based on the songs of ABBA. It features songs such as Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, and Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! The international tour is on going and is currently here in the Philippines from September 29, 2018 (Saturday) to October 21, 2018 (Sunday).

Mammia Mia! first opened in London's West End in 1999 and it still popular after 20 years. With 2 successful movie adaptations, Mamma Mia and Mamma Mia: Here we go again.  What makes this different from other musicals that I have watched before is that prior the final curtain call, the members of the casts performed "Mamma Mia", "Dancing Queen", and "Waterloo" in a concert like performance where in the audience can stand up, dance, and sing with the cast. The performance was so lively and fun to watch.
I was seated in the Orchestra Center.
The story revolves around 20-years-old Sophie Sheridan, who is getting married, invites three men her mother dated in past to her wedding to figure out which one could be her father. While her mother, Donna, catches up with two of her friends while dealing with the fact that her daughter is getting married at such a young age.
